Nagercoil fish curry is a traditional and ever green fish curry in our house. Compared to other fish curries, Nagercoil fish curry is made without oil. We use more coconut in this curry.

Try making this fish curry and it will be so awesome.
Ingredients:
To soak:
- Tamarind - lemon size
- Water
To grind:
- Coconut- 1 cup ( half coconut)
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
- Chilli powder- 1 & 1/2 tsp
- Coriander Powder - 3 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds - 1/8th tsp( very little)
- Whole pepper- 5
- Small onion - 2
- Water
Other:
- Green chillies
- Tomato
- Salt
- Curry leaves
Directions:
- Soak lemon size tamarind in water for 30 minutes and extract juice.
- Grind Coconut- 1 cup ( half coconut, Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp, Chilli powder- 1 & 1/2 tsp, Coriander Powder - 3 tsp, Fenugreek seeds - 1/8th tsp( very little), Whole pepper- 5, Small onion - 2, Water into a smooth paste.
- In a clay pot or cooking vessel, mix the tamarind juice, grinded masala, green chillies, tomato, salt, curry leaves and 1/2 kg fish.
- Place this on stove and boil for 35 minutes.
- Garnish with curry leaves.
- Traditionally we don’t temper our fish curry, but if you wish temper with gingelly or coconut oil, mustard seeds, fenugreek, jeera and curry leaves.
- Yummy fish curry ready to be served with hot rice and fish fry!!!
