Barnyard Millet Sweet Pongal | Kuthiraivali sweet Pongal | சிறுதானிய சர்க்கரை பொங்கல்
Try this sweet Pongal with the goodness of millet.Ingredients:(serves 4)
- Barnyard millet - 3/4th cup
- Moong Dhal - 1/4th cup
- Jaggery - 1 cup + 3 tbsp
- Water - 3 1/2 cup+ 1 cup
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- Cardamom - 5
- Ghee - 2 tbsp
- Cashew nuts- 10
- Raisins - 8
- Pressure cook millet and dhal with 3 1/2 cups of water for 3 to 4 whistles.
- Boil jaggery in 1 cup water and melt it.
- Strain the jaggery syrup and add it to the cooked millet dhal and cook it until it’s well combined.
- Powder cardamom pods with jaggery and add it to the millet Dhal cooked in jaggery.
- Do tempering using ghee, cashew nuts, and raisins and pour the tempering over the sweet Pongal.
- Sweet Pongal made with millet is ready to serve!!!
