Sesame seed rice recipe is an awesome lunch box recipe. You can even make the sesame seed rice powder ahead and store in fridge for around 3 days and mix it in hot rice on a busy day. Don’t forget to garnish the rice with the peanuts and cashews. It gives nice crunchy taste to the rice. My daughter loves this recipe!!!

Now let us look into the sesame seed rice recipe;
Ingredients:
- Raw Rice - 1 cup
- Peanuts - 3 tbsp
- Urad Dhal - 1 tsp
- Chana Dhal - 1 tsp
- Sesame seeds - 5 tbsp
- Dry Red Chillies - 4
- Coconut -2 tbsp
- Tamarind - 1 small piece
- Salt
- Gingely Oil - 3 tsp
- Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
- Chana Dhal - 2 tsp
- Cashews - 1 tbsp
- Dry red Chilli - 2
- Curry Leaves
- Dry roast the ingredients given under sesame rice powder one by one.
- Remove the skin of peanuts and keep half of the peanuts aside for garnishing at end.
- Grind the roasted ingredients along with a piece of tamarind and salt.
- Mix the sesame rice powder with HOT rice cooked with salt and oil(optional). (Make sure the cooked rice is hot and not sticky!)
- Do tempering with the ingredients given under 'to temper' and pour the tempering over the sesame rice.
- Yummy sesame rice ready!!!
